Day 11 – Monday 22nd May
On our way south to the ferry terminal at Craignure we made a diversion to visit Ulva which is where you can catch a ferry to visit several of the smaller islands including Staffa which is renowned for its birdlife.
Again there were magnificent views and very little traffic so the single track roads (as elsewhere) proved quite easy.
As the rain set in at Craignure we took an earlier than anticipated ferry to Oban and made our way to our next stop at the very pleasant Kilchrenan Inn at Kilchrenan (half an hour out of Oban).
We had a short walk in the evening until the threat of midges arrived (the only time that they had bothered us before was when packing the car on the last morning at The Lookout in Waternish).
We didn’t venture out much on deck on the crossing to Oban.
