Day 5 – Tuesday 16th May 2017
A few brief rays of sunshine on the Waternish peninsula before a shower and a rainbow …
A bright start to the day but a little later the weather looked less promising. We needed a walk and thought the Fairy Pools at the foot of The Black Cuillins near Glenbrittle might be just the job. If the weather was poor we could always visit the nearby Talisker whisky distillery at Carbost.
When we got to the pools it was cold and wet and clearly not ideal for our walk.
The closest we got to the Fairy Pools
We didn’t fancy the distillery trip so carried on down the road to the beach at the loch at the bottom the road. With the high winds there weren’t many birds around. However, a little later, when we stopped at the Wee Tea Room, we saw a few birds – in particular lots of siskins.
Some of the birds …
Siskin
Mistle Thrush
Goldfinch
House Sparrow
Great Tit
And some of the views when the weather improved…
