A taste of Skomer

Some photos from trips to Skomer in mid May 2014 and 2015.

The benefit of going at this time of the year is that the bluebells and red campion are at their best. If you leave it later you might see Puffins bringing sand eels back to the nest.

It’s a wonderful experience but I wouldn’t want to do it in a day trip from Bristol. On both occasions we were on long weekends in Pembrokeshire. There are lots of other opportunities to see sea birds in other parts of Pembrokeshire.

Access to Skomer is from St Martin’s Haven

As well as paying for the boat trip you will need to pay a landing fee for Skomer which is generally payable at the office on the mainland.
