Bird watching is not all about sunshine and blue skies as we discovered on a trip to WWT Slimbridge (and as we have discovered many times before).

However, there is generally some reward and ours came near the end of our session when a Temminck’s stint appeared. Temminck’s stints don’t appear in this part of the country very often, only generally appearing in the east of England in migratory seasons: this one though has been reported here regularly in recent weeks, although eluding us until just before we were leaving.



As well as seeing this lovely little bird we fortunately managed to move between hides (and café) without getting wet at all.
